In the past (and in my previous video), this was done in Kapıkule, but it’s now done in Edirne.
- Role: turning point
- In the video: Border control for the crossing into Bulgaria now happens at Edirne rather than Kapıkule. The narrator says the station is being completely rebuilt for the coming high-speed line; passengers go through passport control and the train waits almost three hours.
- Why it matters: It is the night’s main interruption and the reason the timetable is so long.
