I hurried through the slushy snow, clutching a bundle of documents, on my way to the Karolinska Institute, where I was to be interviewed for the position of Chair in International Health.
- Role: turning point
- In the book: In 1996 Rosling uses his twenty minutes to teach eight professors his bubble graph rather than argue his qualifications. He does not get the chair but is offered a six-year senior lectureship and later a professorship.
- Why it matters: Career turning point: the bubble graph, not research, makes him a professor.
