This station was built and opened its doors in 1861.
- Role: setting
- In the video: The narrator starts here and calls the all-wood hall her favourite part of the station. She explains that it is two stations in one: SBB mainline trains along Lake Geneva, and MOB mountain trains. Leaving Montreux, the train gives views of the lake, the vineyards and the Lavaux terraces before climbing to the snowbound Jaman Pass.
- Why it matters: It is the video’s starting point and is described in detail; the ride’s whole contrast between lakeside and snow begins here. The journey ends at Zweisimmen.
