Finding nothing to detain me there, I went straight to the Union Bank of Switzerland offices on the Rue du Rhône to claim my refund on my Visa travelers’ checks. I was directed to a small room in the basement, where international transactions were dealt with.
- Role: journey waypoint
- In the book: In Geneva Bryson goes straight to the Union Bank of Switzerland on the Rue du Rhône to claim a refund for his stolen travellers’ cheques, and is sent to a small basement room for international transactions, where it takes most of the afternoon.
- Why it matters: The end of the stolen-cheques thread; minor.
